On September 19, 2026, students from the Applied Thai Traditional Medicine Program, School of Medicine, Walailak University, organized a community service activity in commemoration of Mahidol Day at the “Ban Dek Chai” in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. The activity was held to honor and commemorate the benevolence and enduring contributions of Prince Mahidol Adulyadej, the Father of Modern Medicine and Public Health of Thailand.
The activity was led by Assistant Professor Paratthakorn Sangkaew and Dr. Chonthicha Kongkwamcharoen, lecturers in the Applied Thai Traditional Medicine Program, School of Medicine, Walailak University. The activity aimed to encourage students to contribute to society by sharing their time, efforts, and goodwill with the children. It also promoted volunteerism and social responsibility, which are important qualities for future healthcare professionals.
This community service activity was not only an opportunity for students to contribute to society, but also a meaningful experience through which they could learn the values of giving, selflessness, and caring for others. These values are closely aligned with the royal commitment of Prince Mahidol Adulyadej, who dedicated his life to improving the well-being of the Thai people.
