On October 30-31, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Komgrit Iawsakul<\/strong> and Asst. Prof. Tasanee Ongthongsap<\/strong>, lecturers from the Department of Applied Thai Traditional Medicine, School of Medicine, Walailak University (WU), were assigned to represent the Southern Economic Corridor (SEC)<\/strong>, focusing on the Oleochemical<\/strong> industry cluster. They participated in the significant event, \u201cSynergise 4 Economic Corridors: Strategy, Innovation and Synergy Directive for Regional Economic Growth,\u201d<\/strong> held at the Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium Hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This event was jointly organized by the Science Park Group (SPG) under the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), in collaboration with the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness Enhancement (PMUC), the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and Regional Science Parks. The primary aim was to serve as a platform for exchanging and advancing policies and strategies in research and innovation for regional development.<\/p>\n During this occasion, the lecturers from Walailak University, operating through the Walailak University Science and Technology Park, participated in specialized training courses and presented their innovative work focusing on personnel capability development.<\/strong> This effort is intended to strengthen the Oleochemical industry within the SEC area, which is identified as one of the key targeted industries for high-value bio-economy and agricultural processing in the South.<\/p>\n The event’s main objective was to promote and integrate cooperation in creating research and innovation across Thailand’s four main economic corridors, namely: Creative Digital (NEC), Biorefinery (NeEC), Digital AI Sensor (CWEC), and Oleochemical (SEC).
