Ms. Lalitpat Thongwon, a first-year medical student at Walailak University, participated in the Asia-Pacific Medical Students’ Symposium (APMSS) 2026) under the theme “Redefining Medicine: Resilience, Innovation, and Global Impact.” The symposium was held from 26–31 January 2026 at National Taiwan University College of Medicine, Taiwan.
She attended the symposium as a representative of Thai medical students from International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations – Thailand (IFMSA-Thailand), joining peers from across the Asia-Pacific region to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and discuss contemporary issues in medicine within a global context.
During the program, she actively engaged in various academic activities, including:
· OSCE Simulation, enhancing clinical competencies through structured simulated patient encounters
· Output Discussions, fostering critical dialogue and synthesis of key international health issues
· Parallel and Interactive Workshops, exploring medical innovation, health system resilience, and the evolving role of future physicians in global health
Her participation highlights the growing presence and potential of Walailak University medical students on the international stage, while broadening their perspectives on medicine in an increasingly dynamic and interconnected world.
