Dr. Sirinya Sitthirak and Assoc.Prof.Dr. Yanisa Rattanapan, lecturers at the School of Medicine, Walailak University, participated in The 85th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Cancer Association (JCA2026), held from 24–26 September 2026 at the Kyoto International Conference Center in Kyoto, Japan. The international conference brought together researchers and experts in cancer research, covering a broad range of topics from basic science and cancer biology to translational research and clinical applications. The event provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge and academic experiences with researchers and cancer specialists from around the world.
At the conference, Dr. Sirinya Sitthirak was selected to deliver an oral presentation entitled “Proteomic Profiling of Cholangiocarcinoma: Common and Region-Specific Protein Signatures Reveal Tumor Heterogeneity.” The study investigated protein differences in cholangiocarcinoma by analysing shared and region-specific protein signatures to better understand intratumoral heterogeneity. Meanwhile, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Yanisa Rattanapan presented a poster entitled “Network Pharmacology and Molecular Docking Identify Medicarpin as a Potent CASP3 and ESR1 Binder Driving Apoptotic and Hormone-Dependent Anticancer Activity.” The study investigated the potential of Medicarpin and its molecular mechanisms underlying anticancer activity using network pharmacology and molecular docking approaches.
The participation and research presentations by the two faculty members provided an important opportunity to disseminate Walailak University’s research internationally, exchange knowledge, and establish academic networks with researchers and experts in cancer research. The knowledge and experiences gained from the conference can further support the advancement of medical research and academic activities at the School of Medicine.
