August 15th, 2023
Third-year medical student, Kanokpitch Sawang, from the School of Medicine, Walailak University, has been selected as one of Thailand’s representatives to participate in an international study and learning exchange program focused on startups. This initiative aims to enhance entrepreneurial skills by collaborating with leading international organizations. Kanokpitch’s selection was driven by her groundbreaking presentation of a prototype – Finder: Cervical Cancer Self-Test Kit. This innovative kit allows self-screening for Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), a leading cause of cervical cancer. Her accomplishment was made at the Thailand Bootcamp & Final Selection event held at Chiang Mai University’s Northern Science Park from August 4th to 6th, 2023.
Kanokpitch was chosen through the Experiential Learning Program (ELP), a collaborative endeavor involving regional science parks and global partners, which sought out 35 exceptional representatives among nearly 1,000 candidates across the nation. This program offers financial support for participating students to embark on this educational journey, aimed at developing their entrepreneurial capabilities on an international scale.
