On 26 November 2025, the School of Medicine, Walailak University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuchard Punsawad, Dean of the School of Medicine, together with faculty members, welcomed Prof. Dr. Christian W. Gruber from the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. Prof. Gruber is a distinguished expert in GPCR molecular pharmacology and drug development, as well as in the discovery and functional characterization of natural peptides and neuropeptides from humans and animals.
The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration in medical and molecular pharmacology research, along with fostering academic exchange between the two institutions. Discussions included potential initiatives such as student, researcher, and staff mobility programs aimed at strengthening academic ties and promoting shared learning. This engagement represents a significant step toward expanding international research networks and enhancing the academic and professional development of staff and students at the School of Medicine.
