December 17th, 2025

Between December 15 and 17, 2025, the faculty members of the Applied Thai Traditional Medicine (ATTM) Department, School of Medicine, Walailak University, conducted on-site supervision for students undertaking their professional internships across Southern Thailand.
The faculty teams visited several key medical facilities as follows:
- Trang Team: Prof. Komgrit Eawsakul and Asst. Prof. Tasanee Ongthanasup visited students at Trang Hospital, Kantang Hospital, and Huai Yot Hospital.
- Nakhon Si Thammarat & Songkhla Team: Ajarn Soiphet Net-anong and Ajarn Dr. Chonthicha Khongkhwamcharoen supervised clinical training in Thai Therapeutic Massage (Hatthavech), Thai Medicine (Vechakarm), and Midwifery at Thasala Hospital. They also followed up on Thai Pharmacy training at the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Plant, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prince of Songkla University, Songkhla.
The primary mission of these visits was to monitor our 4th year-student (2025) progress and evaluate clinical performance in real-world professional environments. The supervision covered all four core pillars of the profession: Thai Medicine, Thai Therapeutic Massage, Thai Pharmacy, and Thai Midwifery. During the site visits, the faculty engaged in close discussions with “Preceptors” (Clinical Supervisors) and students to gather feedback, focusing on three key areas:
- Clinical Skill Enhancement: Ensuring students can effectively apply theoretical knowledge to real-life patient care and clinical situations.
- Curriculum Continuous Improvement: Utilizing feedback from medical facilities to refine the internship program for future student generations.
- Strengthening Partnerships: Fostering long-term collaborations between the university and healthcare institutions in the region.
“The Department of Applied Thai Traditional Medicine would like to express our deepest gratitude to all preceptors, medical personnel, and staff at every hospital for their warm welcome and for providing an excellent learning environment for our students.”
The Department plans to continue its supervision program in Surat Thani province, ensuring that all internship sites are visited to support and prepare students to become high-quality healthcare professionals in the field of Applied Thai Traditional Medicine.
