The School of Medicine, Walailak University, warmly welcomed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norsuhana Binti Omar and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Shahrulsalam Mohd. Shah from the School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia, during 26–27 March 2026, on the occasion of their participation in academic activities under the Walailak Research Convention 2026 (WRC 2026).
During their visit, both distinguished scholars served as invited speakers in the International Seminar entitled “Transdisciplinary Perspectives in Health Sciences,” organized by the Center of Excellence in Tropical Pathobiology in collaboration with the School of Medicine. They shared valuable insights and experiences in health sciences from an international perspective, and actively engaged in discussions with faculty members, researchers, and students.
The visit also included campus tours and academic facility visits, as well as interactive learning activities between medical students and international scholars. These activities provided students with opportunities to enhance their English communication skills and gain valuable experience in an international academic environment.
This initiative forms part of the ongoing effort to strengthen academic collaboration between the School of Medicine, Walailak University, and the School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. It also reflects the School’s strong commitment to advancing education and research at an international level.
