School of Medicine Organizes Wednesday Afternoon Activity “Pronunciation สุดปัง สไตล์ SMD” to Enhance English Pronunciation Skills among First-Year Students

The School of Medicine, Walailak University, organized the “Pronunciation สุดปัง สไตล์ SMD” project for the 2026 fiscal year on Wednesday, 8 July 2026, from 1.00 p.m. to 4.30p.m. at Room 310, Academic Building 7, Walailak University. The activity aimed to promote and develop English pronunciation skills, communication in academic and professional contexts, as well as confidence in speaking and presenting among first-year students of the School of Medicine. 

 

The target participants included students from the Doctor of Medicine Program, the Bachelor of Applied Thai Traditional Medicine Program, and the Bachelor of Science Program in Sports and Exercise Science, along with relevant lecturers and staff members, with a total of 181 participants. The School of Medicine was honored to welcome three English language specialists from the School of Languages and General Education as guest speakers and facilitators: Dr. Simon Moxon, Mr. Grant William Sobotker, and Mr. Ryan William Dewolf. 

 

The training focused on correct English pronunciation practice, the use of technology to support pronunciation learning, and the use of vocabulary and sentences in daily life, academic contexts, and health science contexts. The speakers also provided constructive feedback to help students apply what they learned effectively in their studies, presentations, and future professional communication. The activity aimed to enhance students’ readiness and confidence in using English in the future.
